It's been a long time since I posted here, but I wrote this little drabble and wanted to archive it somewhere.

So here it is. A new pairing for me. :)

A little Captain Jack/Captain John drabble.

Set some time in between "Beneath You" and "Him".


"Spike has a soul now."

"Spike has a what now?" Xander looked at Buffy in disbelief. "How can that be possible?"

"He got it in Africa...for me."

"But why would he do that, Buffy?" Xander asked, stunned.

"To be a better man...to be what I deserve."

Xander looked at Buffy's tear streaked face and could see that she was as stunned by this as he was.

He couldn't believe he was going to say this. "How can I help?"

Buffy looked at him in relief. "Can he come and stay with you?"

Xander sighed. He couldn't stand the vampire, but for some strange reason he felt compelled to do this.

"Yes."

Setting: During Chosen

Chosen (Buffy's POV)

I've seen the worst and best of him. I've watched him change. He's a good man. He knows me better than anyone I've ever known. He loves me. How could I not have seen the truth until now? "I believe in you", "I'm not ready for you not to be here". What a fool I've been! Way to go, Buffy...your sense of timing has always sucked. You wait until he's going to turn into a great big ball of fire before you tell him. You wait until it's too late. Still...better late than never. Right?

"I love you."

My Spuffy

I loved Spike from the moment I first saw him in S2. He made an impact from his first appearance, and he was so beautiful he made my heart melt. But I didn't necessarily like him. He was pure evil from the start, and it never even crossed my mind that Spike and Buffy could ever be together as a couple. But then he started to grow and change, and by S5 he had completely stolen my heart. Then came Fool for Love...and that was it. My obsession with love of Spuffy was born and I've never looked back.

I'm not saying that I wouldn't have liked some things to have been different along the way (of course I would), but on the whole I was happy with the Spike/Buffy story we got. When I think of how far Spike and Buffy came from Spike's first appearance in S2, to the pain and heartache they had caused each other by the end of S6 (and I truly believe they were both equally to blame for the heartache of S6), to the love and trust they had for each other by the end of S7, my Spuffy heart can't help but be happy. From pure evil in S2, to Champion by the end of S7. What a journey it was! And I wouldn't have missed a second of it.


Although I watched the Buffyverse from the start, I didn't come into online fandom until AtS S5, so I was completely unspoiled for the whole of BtVS and the first four seasons of AtS. It was only after Chosen first aired that I ventured onto the internet...and I've never looked back.

Well, I suppose I should actually start posting something in this journal. I'm going to be using it as a place to post any drabbles or ficlets that I write to start off with. I want to keep everything in one place, so that I know where to find it. If I think it's good enough, I'll post it in my other LJ. :)

There will be no RL hassles to be found here, just (hopefully) fic and fandom related posts.
